Art Gallery Exhibition
superbloom x iiiGallery x Ving Vodka x Clint Detention Center
Saturday July 06, 2019 - In partnership with iiiGallery, Ving Vodka, and The Clint Detention Center (South of El Paso), Superbloom hosted an interactive and colorful art installation in Palm Springs, CA accompanied with a donation fundraiser to raise awareness for children and their families in need who were currently detained at the US x Mexico border.
At the time of this exhibition, The Clint Detention Center was currently holding 117 migrant children, with a typical capacity for only 106 total people at any given time. This detention center was in poor conditions and never meant to house people, only process them through, and lacked the proper infrastructure and operations needed to support these children during the crises.
Furthermore, these 117 children were asked to remove their shoelaces when being processed so as to not harm themselves during this time. The lack of clothes, shoelaces, toiletries and feminine hygiene products were becoming a growing and much larger concern for the well-being of these children inside.
This event drew a vibrant and sophisticated art crowd from Palm Springs to Palm Desert. Local Superbloom members were also in attendance, generously supporting this fundraiser.
The actual Superbloom art installation was created in less than 3 days. Locals, friends, and Superbloom members stopped by during the process to say hello.
